Of the two properties ‘Wirrabilla’ had the tougher time in the long drought – one of the most severe on record in the State of New South Wales. We used up most of our stored fodder in 2017 and started buying feed early 2018. There wasn’t much let up in the hand feeding until February 2020. The cattle hung on pretty well, although with not enough condition on them in the high country of Taralga, things got pretty nasty in the winters.
